Polly was born and raised in Puyallup, Washington. She is a first generation Afghan American; her family is originally from Kabul, Afghanistan. Polly’s parents migrated from Afghanistan in 1979 and have resided here in the States ever since.

Polly graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2002. That same year she was accepted to Seattle University School of Law where she received her J.D. in 2005. Polly currently works for the City Attorney’s Office in Tacoma as a Prosecutor. Her past experiences also include working for the Attorney General’s Office, the Public Interest Law Group and a private family law firm. In addition, Polly likes to stay active in the community and is an active participant and member of the: Iranian American Community Alliance organization (IACA), Chaya organization, South Asian Bar Association of Washington (SABAW), Washington State Bar Association, and an advocate for the Afghan community. In addition, Polly was recently nominated and accepted into the prestigious Leadership Institute for the WSBA where she has the opportunity to work on her personal and professional growth as an attorney. In her spare time Polly loves to stay active and enjoys working out, competitive biking, swimming, salsa dancing, volleyball and white water rafting. Polly also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Polly’s motto as her father taught her is to “Take Pride In Everything You Do In Life.”
